I’ve signed up to participate in Dry July for the fourth time. This means a month without drinking alcohol to raise money to make the lives of adults with cancer more comfortable, particularly by improving treatment facilities. Over the six years Dry July has been around, they have raised 11 million dollars. I have found it very rewarding to be part of this endeavour and seeing real outcomes as money raised goes to a wide range of projects across Australia, in both country and city areas. Dry July has contributed to more comfortable chemotherapy chairs, gardens for patients, palliative care refurbishments and wig libraries. Dry July is a great challenge that makes you think about your own lifestyle while raising money for an important cause.

If you would like to support this cause in 2013, please sponsor me at:

I participate in this event every year in memory of my friend and colleague Barbara Rice, who died 2009.
